A real app lives at a link
The first question people ask about something they made with whacka is usually: “Wait — is this a real app?”
Yes. And the part that surprises them: it doesn’t come from the App Store.
Your app opens in any browser from a single link. Tap “add to home screen” and it sits on your phone with its own icon and opens full-screen — on an iPhone or an Android — just like any app you’ve ever downloaded. No store, no download, no waiting.
For someone trying to get their idea into people’s hands, that’s not a limitation. It’s a head start:
- One link reaches everyone. Send it over WhatsApp, in a text, anywhere. The person taps it and they’re in — no “go to the store, search, download, open,” the steps where most people quietly give up.
- No gatekeeper. No store review, no approval queue, no developer account, no getting rejected for reasons you don’t control. You publish; it’s live.
- Updates are instant. Change something, publish, and everyone has the new version the next time they open it. Nothing to push, no one to wait on.
- It works everywhere. The same link works on phones and on computers.
We’ll be honest about the trade-off: this isn’t a listing inside the App Store or Play Store. If being in the store — with the store’s own discovery — is the whole point of your project, that’s a different road. But for most people, the goal was never “be in a store.” It was “have a real thing people can open and use.”
A link someone can tap and use beats a listing they have to find and download. That’s the kind of real we care about.
