How to sell on WhatsApp without a website (or a developer)

Plenty of real businesses live entirely inside WhatsApp. The orders come in, the questions get answered, the money changes hands — all in the chat. The one missing piece is somewhere to show what you sell, so you’re not re-sending the same photos and prices a hundred times a week.

You might think the answer is a website or an online store. For most sellers, it isn’t — those bring a cart, a card-payment setup, a domain, and usually a developer’s bill. The faster answer is a catalog at a link: a clean, browsable shop your customers open in one tap, that sends every order straight to your WhatsApp. Here’s how to set one up.

The short version

Four steps, and you can do them on your phone:

  • Describe your shop to whacka in plain words.
  • Add your products — photos, prices, options.
  • Set your WhatsApp number so orders come to you.
  • Share the link in your status, bio, and chats.

Now the same steps, with what actually matters in each.

Step 1 — Describe your shop in a sentence

Open whacka and say what you’re selling and who it’s for. You’re not filling in a form; you’re describing a shop the way you’d describe it to a friend. Something like: “A simple shop for my home bakery. Show cakes and pastries with photos and prices, let people pick a size, and put an Order on WhatsApp button on each one.”

That’s enough for whacka to build a working catalog — the product grid, the layout, the order buttons — which you then fill with your real items. The more specific you are about your trade, the closer the first version lands.

Step 2 — Add your products

Add what you sell, one item at a time or a few in a row: a photo, a name, a price, and a short line about it. Where it helps, add options — sizes, colors, flavors, quantities. Those options matter more than they look: whatever the customer picks gets written into the order message, so you’re not stuck asking “which size?” after every order.

Group products into categories if you have more than a handful, and you’ve got a catalog that stays easy to browse whether it holds ten items or two hundred.

Step 3 — Point orders to your WhatsApp

This is the piece that makes it a WhatsApp shop. You give whacka your WhatsApp number once, and every product’s Order button becomes a direct line to you. When a customer taps it, their own WhatsApp opens a chat to your number with a message already written — the product, their chosen options, and a friendly opener — ready to send.

Under the hood, that button is a normal WhatsApp link. That choice is deliberate: it opens reliably even when someone taps your shop from inside Instagram or Facebook’s in-app browser, where fancier shortcuts often break. The result is simple — the order reaches you, every time, with no app and no account on the customer’s side.

Step 4 — Share the link everywhere you already are

You finish with one address — yourshop.whacka.app — and now your job is just to put it where people already see you:

  • Your WhatsApp status, whenever you add something new.
  • Your bio link on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
  • Your broadcast list and groups, instead of a wall of photos.
  • Anywhere you’d normally send pictures — a sign, a flyer, a business card.

One link replaces the whole ritual of forwarding images and retyping prices. People browse on their own time, and the ones who are ready come to you.

How a customer actually orders

From their side it couldn’t be simpler, which is the whole point:

  • They open your link and browse — no login, no download.
  • They find what they want, pick any options, and tap Order on WhatsApp.
  • Their chat opens with the order already written; they add a note if they like and send.
  • You confirm and arrange payment and delivery the way you always have.

Nothing about how you get paid changes. Cash on delivery, bank transfer, mobile money, in person — it all still happens in the chat, where your customers already trust you.

Help people find your shop

A few small things make your link easier to find and to trust. Give your shop a clear name and a one-line description of what you sell and where you deliver — that’s what shows up when you share the link and when people search. Keep photos sharp and prices current. And put the link in your bios so it’s a permanent doorway, not a message that scrolls away. You don’t need to be an SEO expert; you need to be findable and clear.

The honest details

As always, the edges up front:

  • This is a catalog plus a chat, not a card checkout. The order opens in WhatsApp and you settle up there. For most sellers in most places, that’s the natural way to sell — and it sidesteps the card-payment setup a website would force on you. (If you do want to charge for something digital in-app, whacka can take one-time payments through your own PayPal.)
  • You confirm each order. An order is a message that arrives ready to send — a real person taps send, and a real person (you) replies. That’s a feature: no silent, faceless checkout, just the conversation you already have with customers.
  • Building uses your whacka credits. Creating and improving the shop draws on credits; sharing it and receiving orders does not.

Questions people ask

Do I really not need a website?

Correct. Your whacka shop is a real web page at a real link — it just skips the parts that make “a website” slow and expensive: no separate hosting to rent, no cart and card processor to configure, no developer. You describe it, you share the link, you’re selling.

Is it free to sell this way?

Sharing your shop and taking orders through WhatsApp costs nothing, and whacka takes no cut of your sales. Building and refining the app uses your whacka credits, and a free address is included; your own domain is a paid extra.

What if I don’t have a WhatsApp Business account?

You don’t need one. The Order button opens a chat to whatever WhatsApp number you give it — a regular account works fine. A Business account just adds extras like a profile and quick replies if you want them later.

Can I change prices and add products later?

Anytime. Tell whacka what to change, publish, and the live link updates for everyone instantly — no re-sending anything to anyone.

You already run your business in WhatsApp. This just gives it a front door. Describe your shop, add a few products, and share the link — you can be taking orders before the day is out.

Still just an idea?
