Free accounting app for a small shop — sales, expenses and customer debts in one place

August 26, 2026

The last time you asked yourself “how much does that customer owe me?” — how long did the answer take? Flipping notebook pages, adding credit sales and subtracting payments on a calculator, landing on “roughly”. And the notebook never answers the harder question at all: this month, did the shop make money or lose it?

This page won’t explain “how to choose accounting software”. Instead, we’ll show you a shop ledger made from a single paragraph of plain description — with the exact text that made it — so you can copy that paragraph and make your own, shaped to your shop, in minutes.

The app: “Hisabati”

We typed one paragraph into whacka describing what a paper-book shop owner needs, and this program came out complete — then we ran a real cycle through it: recorded the day’s sales, took a 200 SAR payment from a customer with an open debt and watched his balance drop by itself, and sent him his statement:

Hisabati home screen: the month's net profit, a breakdown chart of sales, purchases and expenses, and total outstanding debts A customer page in Hisabati: current balance, payment and credit-sale buttons, a WhatsApp statement button and the transaction history Hisabati monthly report: sales, purchases, expenses and net profit with a chart

What came out of that one paragraph — as is, with no manual code editing:

  • An entry in seconds: sale, purchase or expense — amount, date, an optional note, appearing instantly in the list with a save confirmation.
  • Credit sales with one tap: tick “credit sale to a customer” and the amount lands in that customer’s ledger automatically.
  • Balances that compute themselves: a new credit raises the balance, a payment lowers it — “owes 510” or “settled”, no calculator.
  • A WhatsApp statement: one button opens WhatsApp with a ready message — every dated transaction plus the final balance — we tried it and the full statement came out addressed to the customer’s number.
  • A home screen that answers the big question: the month’s net profit, the sales/purchases/expenses breakdown, total outstanding debts, and who owes the most.
  • Daily and monthly reports: pick any day or month and see the numbers and charts — including a per-day sales curve.
  • Your book lives in your account: sign-in protects your numbers, and they open from any device — nothing is lost with a lost phone.
  • Shop name and currency in settings: riyal, pound or dinar — shown the way you write it.

The sign-in screen has a “quick try” button that opens the whole app with sample data kept on your device only — you can try entries, balances and reports with no account, without touching anyone’s real book.

The paragraph that made it — copy it and reshape it

This is the full text that was typed into whacka, and everything above came out of it (it was written in Arabic; here it is in English):

I run a shop and record sales, purchases and customer debts in a notebook, and it’s hard to know each customer’s balance. I want an Arabic app: I record daily sales, purchases and expenses; I add a customer, record a credit amount on them and record their payments, and their current balance shows automatically. I want a screen with total outstanding debts and who owes the most, a statement per customer I can share with them on WhatsApp, and a daily and monthly profit summary.

How to use it: copy the paragraph, paste it into whacka, and before sending, change what’s between the lines to match your business: “a shop” becomes “a workshop”, “a pharmacy” or “a produce stall”; add “split expenses into rent, salaries, electricity and misc” if you want itemized spending; add “currency in Egyptian pounds” if you’re not on riyals. Plain sentences — no fields, no settings — and every sentence you write becomes part of your program.

And once it’s built, you refine it the same way: “remind me about debts older than a month” or “export the month’s statement to PDF” — type it in the chat and your program changes.

Honestly: what it doesn’t do

  • It is not certified tax accounting software. No double-entry bookkeeping, no government e-invoicing — it’s the shop’s book: entries, balances and profit. If you have an accountant and tax obligations, this organizes the daily flow and your accountant keeps their job.
  • The WhatsApp statement doesn’t send itself. The button opens WhatsApp with the message written and ready — you press send yourself, so nothing reaches your customer unseen.
  • The numbers are as honest as what you record. A program only knows what you type into it — record the entry the moment it happens; even that is easier than the notebook.

Frequently asked questions

Is it actually free? Starting is free with no card: daily credits refresh and cover describing, building, trying and publishing your program. Paid plans are for heavy building — details here.

Does it work on iPhone and Android? Yes — it’s a link that opens in any browser and installs to the home screen as an icon on both, no app stores involved.

Is my data safe if I change phones? Yes — your book lives in your account, not the device: sign in from the new phone and everything is where you left it.

I have a business partner — can we both use it? As built, it serves one account. Type “let my partner sign in with his own account and see the same book” in the chat and that gets added.
