An invoice app for your small business — made from one paragraph

August 24, 2026

Quick test: what was the number of the last quote you sent? If answering means opening a spreadsheet — or asking “wait, which file is the latest?” — you know the problem. Numbers repeat, copies drift between your phone and laptop, and nobody remembers which half of which invoice that customer already paid.

This page won’t tell you “how to choose invoicing software.” Instead, here’s an app that was built from a single paragraph of plain description — with the exact text that built it — so you can copy that paragraph and get your own version, shaped around your business, in minutes.

The app: Fatouri (فاتوري)

We gave whacka one paragraph describing what a small maintenance workshop needs. It built this complete app in minutes — and then we ran a real work cycle through it: a new client, a two-item quote, converting it to an invoice, and recording a partial payment:

Fatouri home screen: amount due this month and unpaid invoices Quote QT-2026-0001 with WhatsApp share, PDF export and convert-to-invoice actions Invoice INV-2026-0001, partially paid, with the remaining balance computed automatically

What came out of that one paragraph — as generated, no manual fixes:

  • Clients — name, phone, address, quick search.
  • Multi-line quotes — quantity, unit price and discount per line, totals computed as you type.
  • Automatic tax — a 15% VAT default you can change or zero out per document.
  • Sequential numbering that never repeats — quotes get QT-2026-0001 and count up; invoices run their own independent INV-2026-0001 series.
  • One-tap quote → invoice conversion, with the quote staying linked to its invoice.
  • Payment tracking — full or partial; status moves by itself (unpaid → partially paid → paid) with the remaining balance computed.
  • PDF, print and WhatsApp sharing for every document, under your business letterhead.
  • A home screen that answers the end-of-month question: how much collected, how much still out, and with whom.

Inside the app, tap “تجربة سريعة” (quick try) — it drops you into a demo with sample data, no registration. (Real accounts sign in because your invoices live in your account and follow you across devices — not something to leave lying open.)

The paragraph that built it — copy it and make it yours

This is the full text that was typed into whacka (in Arabic — describe in whatever language you work in):

Rough English equivalent, if you’d rather start from that:

I run a small repair workshop and I issue quotes and invoices from a spreadsheet, and I keep losing track of the numbering. I want a mobile app where I add a client (name, phone, address), then create a quote with multiple line items — quantity, unit price, discount and tax — with totals computed automatically. One tap converts a quote into an invoice with sequential numbering that never repeats. I want to export invoices as PDF with my logo, share them on WhatsApp, and see a screen with paid and unpaid invoices and the total due this month.

How to use it: paste the paragraph into whacka, and before sending, change the details to match your business — “repair workshop” becomes “spare-parts shop” or “services office”; add “with a car plate number field on every invoice” if you fix cars; drop the tax line if you don’t charge it. Every sentence you write becomes part of the app. Afterwards, changes work the same way: “add an internal notes field customers don’t see” — typed in chat, applied to your version.

Honestly: what it does not do

  • It is not a certified e-invoicing provider. If your business is VAT-registered in Saudi Arabia and needs ZATCA (Fatoora) integration, that requires a ZATCA-approved provider — Fatouri organizes your paperwork and produces clean PDFs; it does not file invoices with the tax authority.
  • It needs internet. It’s a web app you install to your home screen; your data lives in your account rather than on one device — which is exactly what keeps it safe if the phone is lost.
  • Payments are recorded, not processed. The app tracks who paid what; collecting the money stays between you and your client. (If you want a payment gateway inside your own app, that can be described in later, too.)

Common questions

What does it cost? Starting is free — describe the app, try it and iterate without a card. A free daily allowance is enough to build and test an app like this; plans are on the pricing page.

Does it work on iPhone and Android? Yes — it opens from a link in any browser and installs to the home screen as an icon on both.

Where does my data live? In your account. Open the app from your phone or laptop and the same clients and invoices are there — losing a device doesn’t mean losing your books.

Do I need technical skills? No. The paragraph above is plain language, and so is every edit after it. If you can write a long WhatsApp message, you can build this.
